Robert Zerby, City Leader

Orlando Rivera, Committee Chairman

Orlando is a native of Rochester, NY and a graduate of Bishop Kearney High School in Irondequoit. After high school, Orlando went on to attend the State University of New York at Potsdam with a concentration in Spanish Literature.

Orlando’s career began in 2002 with The Research Foundation of S.U.N.Y. as an ESL tutor and Outreach Recruiter across New York State. The challenge to grow as a non-profit professional led to a position with PathStone Corporation as the Placement and Career Services Developer and soon after the Regional Administrator with the PathStone Farmworker Training and Employment program’s Wayne County office. A focus on assisting others to achieve their dreams led to entrepreneurship in the form of real estate. Currently a Licensed NY state Real Estate Salesperson. A 2016-17 Greater Rochester Association of Realtors Sales Master Award Winner , Past President of Rochester Latino Rotary, Board of Directors Gildas Club, Board of Directors Housing Council at PathStone, 2008 PathStone NY Division Rookie of the year, and National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals(NAHREP) 2017 Latino agent award, Top 50  in the North East and 2018 Latino agent award Top 250 in the U. S.

RoseMary Shaw, Secretary and Treasurer

RoseMary has been involved with Republican politics for more than 35 years, working with multiple levels of government. When she moved to the City of Rochester in 2016, RoseMary immediately joined the City committee and has been serving as both Secretary and Treasurer. In addition to her Committee work, she is also a member of the Monroe County Women’s Republican Club and the New York State Federation of Republican Women.

Prior to joining the Rochester City Republican Committee, RoseMary was a member of the Clarkson Women’s Republican Club and the Clarkson Republican Committee (initially serving as that committee’s Secretary). In 2013, RoseMary was elected Town Leader of the Clarkson Republican Committee and held that position until moving into the City of Rochester.

RoseMary grew up in the local area and studied finances/accounting at both Alfred State College and the Rochester Institute of Technology. Her carrier experience includes positions with both RT French, and after taking a hiatus to raise children, she returned to work for PetSmart. During that time, she and her husband also worked as antiques dealers for 35 years.  RoseMary is now retired but still works occasionally for a household sale company, which allows her to continue pursuing her interest in antiques.

Heather Knappen, Media Relations

Heather grew up in Monroe County and is a graduate of both Roberts Wesleyan College and the Rochester Institute of Technology. She has worked and volunteered in local politics for the last 10 years, with a special focus on communications and community outreach.

She currently works as an insurance broker for a leading benefits firm. In her spare time, she enjoys training for half marathons, skiing, reading, and time with her family.
